Is sleep paralysis and astral travel related? I ask this because sometimes I detach from my body while in my paralysis state. However, when I launch from my body in paralysis, I can never get past my bedroom and feel very debilitated. Usually I'm tortured by a dark "evil" presence of some kind that keeps me in my room. This has me wondering what kind of experience I would have if I could somehow get past my bedroom door?

I've had peaceful astral traveling experiences but never from the state of my sleep paralysis.

Astral projection is not real, so nope.

I can leave my body pretty easily when I focus to, when laying down and relaxed.

Out of body experiences are real, sure. Doesn't mean you're actually leaving your body.

I agree. I guess it just feels like I'm leaving my body.

According to AP author Robert Bruce, when you are in sleep paralysis your astral double has already left.

One time I did have an experience where I bilocated, and can remember the moment from two perspectives: I was lying in bed in sleep paralysis, and I perceive my astral double across the room, and I also remember floating around the room as my astral double.

AP is real. Sometimes its hard to prove because sometimes you slip out into parallel realities or time travel. But there are countless stories of people observing things they could not have known while out-of-body. It's easy to dismiss as mere anecdotes, but when it happens to you it is undeniable. it's happened to me on multiple occasions.

Thanks for the info and sharing your experience. SP and AP do seem closely related from my experiences, too. When I'm in a paralysis state the AP that occurs seems pretty wild and harder to control sometimes. Probably because sleep paralysis can bring on fear and uneasiness. It is all very undeniable when it happens though.
