You identify what it is you're afraid of and why. For example, afraid of dogs incase you're bitten. You expose yourself to what you're afraid of, building up step by step. In this instance, you'd start put by walking through a park with dogs near by. Then you'd be near a dog in a cage. Then you'd be in a room with a sitting dog. Then eventually you'd hold/pet the dog. This gets the idea out of your head that whatever you're afraid of happening (being bitten) won't actually happen.
Apply this logic to seeing whatever you're afraid of. Good luck.
