In 1992 the South African Police Service established an "Occult Related Crimes Unit". They basically sought to prosecute people for Satanism and Witchcraft. The unit was headed by Dr. Kobus Jonker (like a fucking John Constantine). It was never dissolved but instead absorbed into other units in 2006. Stats show that the South African Police still has at least 40 dedicated paranormal and occult specialists.
