What is the best way to become an Discordian?
All of my philosophy is out of date
Possibly one of the stupidest belief systems out there.

You couldn't have possibly said something else as uneducated as this.
>>17529389
so his belief is that believing in an opinion is the death of intelligence?
>>17529332
Touch your left index finger to your right ring finger then turn your head to the right and say "hail Eris" three times.
Hope this helps

I stand corrected.

>muh mental masturbation
>>17529426
Are you sure it wasn't 5 times?
Oh wait.
Hail Eris is two words.
Thanks. Will do this.

Well it just doesn't make sense.
An opinion is a belief. Believing in nothing is still a belief.
Does he mean that believing in organized and controlled thoughts is the death of intelligence?
>>17529440
He just means that you should always be willing to change your mind about any opinion that you hold.
The definition of "belief" that he is using is more like what most people would call an "unwavering belief".
He isn't really saying anything too profound but very few people actually do this in practice. Most people are way to fond of their beliefs.

>an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists.
not the same as
>a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
I guess it's true after all.
>>17529461
Oooh okay.
Thanks for clarifying. That makes a lot of sense.
>>17529461
>meaning
>in a discordian thread
nice joke
>>17529470
>>17529470
>That makes a lot of sense.
You're in the wrong thread.
>>17529461
>this guy told me how to be a discordian, and now i'm a great big discordian too, showing all these people how to embody theistic absurdism by quoting a cock-eyed Playboy editor's science fiction novel
Have you joined the Bavarian Illuminati yet?
>>17529506
I am he.
>>17529471

You're perfect as you are. I'll take three.
>>17529520

>>17529461
>Most people are way too fond of their beliefs.
They ought to be!
>most people don't believe in themselves
Oh... Maybe not.
Read "The Holy Discordian Quran" by Malacalypse the Enabler for starters...
>>17529332

The initiation rites are spelled out in the Principia Discordia but they're not essential. Fuck an apple, eat a hot dog, it'll come pretty naturally if you really want it.
