Ok, Some crazy guy just zoomed down my road in what looked like a red pickup truck and threw a backpack in my yard. it nearly hit my car. I run out side to see the commotion but the truck left pretty quickly. the bag contains a decent amount of change, a broken pocket knife and a laptop. the screen is smashed and Im assuming the battery is dead, or the computer is completely useless.

you can literally connect the laptop to another screen once its charged and use it normally.

There might be easy to extract the hdd from the computer, after that you can plug it on a usb port.
You will need an adapter like the pic related, but every external hard drive have one inside, so if you have one, dismantle it with a little screw driver.
