I'm recently getting into this, from what I've collected, Ben and Ed is a game some let's players have been playing on youtube, in the game you are a zombie and you eat a kid named ben. then a strange facebook page appeared posting photos and clues leading to real life places where someone found bones and shit

also, from what I've gathered, the clues so far have pointed to essen, and the developers are also from essen, so this all might just be some trolling from the devs to viralize the game
