The whisperer in darkness is watchable
Film is a very poor medium for Lovecraft. His horror plays on your imagination--film reduces that. If your imagination is poor enough that you need to watch a movie instead of reading, you shouldn't be bothering with Lovecraft in the first place.
If you like the found footage genre, give The Borderlands (also known as Final Prayer) a try. Its not an adaptation, but it has a lovecraftian feel to it.
