That just doesn't make much sense though considering he's the one that keeps pushing me away. He's directly stated he doesn't want to be with me, yet what you're saying says something else. that makes perfect sense to me. He can rely on you to be there for him to the limit of his needs. He can tell you what he wants, get the support he wants, and then cut you off when you get too close.
He has some major issues with family I think, and you share that so you feel a connection. However I think his issues have left him guarded and wounded, whereas yours have left you seeking connection. Here's the issue here. You're having WAY too many doubts. You need to be direct and confident in your approach. I know, it sounds obvious, but this is what the cards are telling me. You may have hurt him, but at some point you must defend yourself in these matters. One of the things you are going to learn, being a reader, being a healer, being a helper, being the way that you are... is that sometimes people have to help themselves, you can put your hand out but if they dont pull themselves up you run the risk of them pulling you down with them. Give a reasonable effort, love them, forgive them, but do not let them drag you under if they refuse to come up to meet you.

well this isnt about being lovers, or being friends or being there for one another, this is specifically about the give and take of support and energy.
He has needed you, and you have been there. Now you need him, and the question is whether he can be there for you in that capacity.
This doesnt mean y'all cant get your swerve on or be friends, but do realize that if he is incapable of making that connection that you need for a deeper romantic relationship, even incapable of TALKING about it with you... I think you know it's not going to work on that level.
