I remember as a kid I would always look through rock beds or anywhere there was rocks for things my older sister called "Indian stones". They were like beads with weird carvings in them, and we found them kind of rarely. I remember my mother wouldn't let us bring them in the house because she was scared of curses put on then.

does anyone else know about these weird Indian stones and where I can find more info?

Gorgeous. Ever since I took my daugher "gem mining" in Gatlinburg (they give you a little pot of dirt and you pan it in water and 'precious' gems pop out and you can have them made into jewelry and stuff) she's been fascinated by rocks and minerals and has come up with a pretty sizable collection. We see samples at roadside trading posts, I got her some great turquoise in Arizona. She just loves reading up about them, the stories behind their names, she has this gorgeous twisted quartz looking spire that her aunt sent her from Portland and she can shine different colored lights through it on a stand.

My best friend, who is also an angel medium told me to start eating, living with, smelling Himalayan salt for my migraines and depression. I'm a little skeptical.
>>
>>17490522
do you like the smooth ones better than the other kind or are they all good
>>
>>17493432
Maybe if you just eat it considering it is a food substance, and apparently one with a lot of health benefits

But those lamps and shit are pretty much just fancy lamps, salt is just salt. You'd probably be better off just seeing a doctor.

My small, humble beginners collection.

I'm really getting into this shit though. The experience I had buying these and things that happened after meeting the shop owner, synchronicities, just crazy things, have really changed my outlook on spirituality and life in general
>>
I am kind of a geology nerd. I have a small collection of my own, and love seeing photos of other people's specimens. I am very skeptical about minerals having any objective paranormal attributes though. It's a nice thought, but honestly rocks are interesting enough on their own.
>>
I am a rock.

>>
>>17493731
the term objective and paranormal go together like oil and water, my friend. crystals still have an electromagnetic field that's interacting with yours regardless of whether or not you believe, and i assume you take good care of your specimens anyway, so from my hippy dippy perspective you're still getting a considerable benefit out of having them.

I used to love rocks, but i could never find any. The only thing we have around here is granite. I kind of felt like a poser cause I bought all my rocks from this little hippy store called natural wonders, and when they went out of business I stopped collecting rocks.

I suppose i could just buy rocks from places, but I always wanted to go out and explore and find gems on my own.
>>
>>17494696
I always kind of felt like if you could get the right rocks and arrange them in the right pattern, you could do magic. Not like fireballs or anything, just cool shit.
>>
>>17494699
And i mean, divination is just intuition, right? so who cares about the medium? I don't even know where I'd put them now a days, I have no space for any of my stuff.
>>
>>17493943
What's this?
>>
>>17494231
>>17494625
I believe that is what they call aura quartz. It is an artificial treatment applied to quartz crystals to give them an appealing blue color.>>17494696
>>
>>17494696
I've found garnets in granite landscapes. Try looking in coarse sorted sedement in mountain streams. A gold pan is helpful for this.
>>
>>17493796
I don't think you fully understand the meaning of the term "objective". What you just described is an objective effect. And yet nobody has been able to measure or in any way scientifically demonstrate it's existence. Hence my skepticism. I would really like to think that my beautiful mineral collection has some sort of magical effect on me, but really I have a hard time believing that it affects me that much differently than my knife collection or my gas mask collection for example.
>>
>>17495378
What i mean is that objectivity as we define it is such a limited modality for what's professed to exist, and holds no space for the supernatural, or that would be an exception to a declared scientific law. objectivity is "i know", and being open minded is "i don't know that i don't know" I won't profess something to be the absolute truth unless i'm playing by your rules.

As far as electromagnetic fields go, it's my understanding that all things give off such a field, and that that IS scientifically verifiable. Crystals are formed in fractal patterns, and resonate according to those patterns. Call me crazy, but it's been my experience that that's something we can consciously access if we're open to it.
>>
>>17495378
while anon may be exaggerating, they are not incorrect, everything has an electromagnetic field given a sensitive enough measuring device, even if it's just an extremely weak one.

Many minerals exhibit piezo, pyro, and ferro electrical components.

My operating theory is that the human mind is actually much much more susceptible to electrical fields than we are currently aware, even to the point that it can be influenced by extremely weak electromagnetic influences.

We may not be consciously aware of this effect, but it is my theory that it's still there and could be measured given sensitive enough equipment.

Whether your mineral collection has a "magical" effect on you is an entirely personal and psychological question. Whether it is having a physiological and objective effect on you is 100% certain, it is, there can be no doubt. The question is to what degree it is effecting you and whether that effect can be measured.

Yeah we're not sensing anything coming from rocks, if there is anything there at all, which there doesnt seem to be.

Piezo electric properties work only apply you squeeze a rock hard enough. The amount of energy released by the rock is proportional to the amount of volume compressed. In other words, we aren't capable of compressing rocks so we aren't experiencing any piezo electric pheneomena.

If you've ever been up in the Sierra Nevada however... I get a weird feeling standing on top of 14000 feet of compressed granite. Theres a beautfiul silence, almost accompanied by a buzz. You can almost feel it in the air. Plus it's magnificently beautiful.

I once saw a similar crystal in a geode, they said it was to heal and repair the aura.

That other anon that responded was correct, it's an aqua aura quartz, very pretty. I won it from a girl on instagram and it was actually the first one I owned, along with 2 rose aura quartz which I just realized aren't pictured...hmm have to look for those
