Wendigo is too specific. Nobody really knows what the thing that ruined their camping trip was. There is just too many beasts.

If you want real stories, then no, because the Wendigo is just a legend created by natives a longass time ago to prevent cannibalism. If you really want spoogi stories that still might have some kind of truth to them, look around for fleshgait stuff. Most people here call them skinwalkers but everywhere else, skinwalkers are thought of as another native legend of a similar name.

A few months ago I was up at around 3 am and had my window open and there was this horrible screeching coming from out near the street. The screeches sounded horrible, like a cat being tortured, it sent chills up my body. I sprang up immediately to try and see what it was but all I could see was darkness. I heard a second screech along with what sounded like hooves but I'm not entirely sure. I have no idea what it was but when I heard the hoof-like sounds I immediately thought of OP's picture.
