Talk about urban exploration. What supplies you usually bring, what you do there and things you've found on trips. Talk about locations in your state, ect.
>>
All i usually bring is a small backpack with some water. I carry my folding knife and a multitool along with my phone and wallet with ID.
>>
I've been urbex a few times. It always feels sketchy.

My friend once went to an abandoned 4 story office building. It wasn't very big but was a 'tall building'. The only way to access the building was to ascend to the top floor via the external fire staircase. When he opened the door at the top, he quickly and luckily noticed someone had created a human sized gap in the floor. As he further explored the building, he found that this human sized hole was in the same spot on each floor. Apparently it was a booby trap set up by the squaters to prevent people entering. Definitely would have resulted in death had someone been unlucky enough to fall through the hole.

Hey, if I was a squatter I'd make traps to keep the method heads out of my house

I'll have to compress the rest of these images as the file sizes are too large.
It seems as if the inside was going to be remodeled into a church of some sort. There's lots of religious imagery inside including boxes full of framed paintings of Biblical imagery (likely mass produced).
All of these materials were simply abandoned, so its likely money or interest ran out and the project stagnated.
There is also a basement that is difficult to navigate as it's very muddy and waterlogged. Two vehicles sit outside and there's a couple small buildings filled with other various files, tools, etc.
Definitely the coolest location for Urbex in my area, I'll do my best to get on the rest of those pictures.

Flashlight, knife/multitool, good rope if you have to climb shit for whatever reason, snax/water. A pistol doesn't hurt either, just don't get caught urbex-ing with it. Goes from simple trespassing to armed something or other real quick.

You should take the religious paintings. Never know if any of them might be worth something.

I'm pretty glad this thread has been made because I have a question. What is the legality of entering where buildings are concerned? I've had a few friends be arrested for "burglary" because they were caught inside abandoned and empty buildings. Does the age of the building have anything to do with it? How secure it is in keeping people out? I only ask because there's an abandoned place near me that's been empty for about 6 or 7 years but it keeps coming up for sale so I don't want to really go in it if alarms or any shit are going to start blaring.
>>
Notkillme...Spirobot checked in Thanks Again
>>

Don't bring lockpicks or any weapons, that makes it an automatic burglary charge and usually a bunch of other "big boy" crimes so don't fuck around with those. If you are just poking around usually it's criminal mischief / criminal trespass you can plead down with a good attorney. A large mag lite is your friend.
>>
>>17473279
Thanks a lot dude, I think I'll try to check it out this weekend at some point. If there's anything worth getting pics of I'll get some, it's not really an old building (1980s maybe) but it's fucking huge so there might well be some interesting stuff inside.

>tfw by complete chance bought a big maglite the other day for no real reason

Trespassing varies in punishment from state to state. In my home state it can net you a year in jail. Look it up before you go anywhere. Most importantly, don't get caught.

I love urban exing and have gone about a dozen times around New England and outside of the country. I'm also big into prepping so my supplies are kind of dictated by that. My standard gear is a small pack with about 5-10 lbs of stuff. Pic is from Fort Wetherill, RI
>lantern and small flashlight
>paracord
>at least one knife
>multi tool
>first aid pouch
>food
>at least a quart of water
>respirator when air quality is poor
>gloves

Fort Wetherill, Rhode Island. It used to be a coast guard base and a mining facility then it was a German prisoner of war camp for a bit and it's been abandoned since the 50s.
>>
>>17473202
Trespassing is the most common charge. Laws vary from state to state, but one thing you can use in your own defense if you don't get caught is whether or not a trespassing notice was posted. So if a building has a "no trespassing" sign or is marked as condemned and you get caught you're fucked. But if it doesn't have it posted you can use that in your defense.
>>
>>17478918
Most cops and security are cool and don't want to deal with the paperwork and time to charge you. Fess up, apologize, promise to never return, and if you don't have spray paint, tools, or haven't broken anything they generally let you go after scolding, lecturing, and scaring you with threats of arrest.
