foresty, moorish, innawoods, isolated natural type places are getting more and more fucked these days is the impression i'm getting. there's been an upsurge in weirdness. they've always been eldritch; the shared social motif of the haunted forest has always been there, but there seems to be an extra dimension over the last few decades. despise that fuck paulides, but if you add in his cases, the animal and human mutilations, stories like these, and so on, it seems if you go into the woods today, you're more likely in for a surprise than what the average should be or used to be. then again, maybe there's just more of us on the planet and so there's more of us around to go into foresty areas than there used to be. still, there seems to be a bit more stuff going on than one should expect. it used to be you'd think cool, love going out into the forests, at least, if you take precautions against animals, you're safe there compared to the city. all of a sudden now one's thinking, geez, not sure if i'd like the idea of going out camping as much as i used to. just seems to be a lot of different kind of shit going on in such places all of a sudden.

Not gonna greentext cuz this just happened.
Im out of town for 6 days for security work, some mexican concert or something.
Get to hotel room and meet two co-workers i gotta share a room with.
They got nightshift tonight so its me and this shitty room, watching comedy central on a shitty zenith tv when it goes out for no reason, the alarm and outlets work but tv refuses to turn on. I felt something strange right by me for awhile as i look into darkness, hoping nothing decides to appear from said darkness.
After awhile my co-worker calls and informs that i got the dayshift tomorrow, after i hang up the damn tv turns on and the feeling is gone.
I move to my little cot since im the shortest guard in the room.
I get ready for bed and turn off the tv. Music playing, i slowly drift into sleep when i hear something heavy hit the tub in the bathroom.
