Meditation discussion thread
I am looking to start an insight meditation practice, but there are so many different instructions on proper technique, each claiming to be the best one (some reccomend noting sensations others don't etc). Can anyone provide decent guidance on vipassana/insight meditation?

most meditations are about sharpening your attention/perception/focus they just have different methods for doing so. some might work better for you than others depending on your own mind.

Practice yoga first so that you can sit in meditative positions longer. Yoga will also help you focus on your breath which fundamental to meditation.

this, learn about diaphragmatic breathing too, learn about sandbag breathing to develop a strong and effortless breathing pattern, that will put you into a very deep state while in meditation.
