Images of things that look like something scarier. Ex: the famous loch ness picture, or pic related basking shark.

Doesn't have to be things in the sea
Wasp nest build over a statue.
Dragon skull. Or rather a bird's pelvis.

Yup. A dead beluga whale.

still doesn't look like a basking shark to me, no matter in what state of decay. but maybe its just me wanting to believe
>>17463578
Here. Rest roots away as it is build out of way softer tissue than lumps of cartilage.
>>17463582
Now. What the fuck is this?
This dead whale looks like a graboid from Tremors for no fucking reason.
>>17463584
well judging by this the lower jaw would have to have fallen away as well but that might not be that improbable judging by how ragged the corpse looks
We have a human skeleton here.
>>17463602
Or do we?
>>17463572
Shit looks like a chestburster
>>17463608

Dead beaked whale.

The famed Trunko, in reality just a pile of sperm-whale collagen.
>>17463562
Hot damn that's awesome.
>>17463574
I'd never heard about musk deer before, interesting looking animals. Couldn't find any info on what the tusks are for, I'd imagine something like scraping the ground to dig up roots.
>>17463590
Two experts who saw the video concluded it was a raccoon. Perhaps lost its fur due to disease and underwent unusual decomposition due to being in the sea. According to wikipedia at least.

Looks like a goblin shark, which is also a ''LIVING FOSSIL'', a creature/being (tree/ plant & marine life, mammals, sea creatures)
as is the snapping turtle and sandhill crane, and the horse shoe crab, closely resembling a trilobite.
anyhoo, this yoke looks a bit...vaguely like a... goblin shark, google it, and see for yourself .

>>17483590
They really are cute, aren't they?
I honestly can't even comprehend why it is that some people find them creepy/disgusting, I imagine it's some sort of very common phobia or something?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrWEi2SVu8c
This creature does nothing apart from slowly drifting in cold lifeless northern waters and looking creepy.
>>17483597
probably because of their goddamn freakin wings.
>>17475364
manboobs
>>17483600
Is that your personal account, or are you guessing?
I'm legitimately curious here, if the wings are unsettling to you then I've probably got my answer, but to me the wings of a bat are no different from that of a raptor, the first descriptor that comes to mind being "majestic".
>>17483612
in Europe these wings were used as a stereotypical Devil's feature.
>>17483616
I think you'll be hard-pressed to find an animal feature that hasn't been used to depict some demon or equivalent somewhere at some point in time.
On the topic of Europe we have for example the Buer, who has a lion's head and many (usually 5) goat legs. People aren't normally unsettled by goat legs unless they're hardcore vegetarians, and while most recognize the lion as being a dangerous animal, it's a rational conclusion that they should stay away from wild lions, not an irrational fear.

Top one's missing, too. Sharks' jaws aren't actually connected to the skull even when they're alive. (Google it)

No it fucking doesn't with it's pig shaped body, ears, nostrils and limbs.
You don't need to name drop meme-animals and half remembered common knowledge trivia with no reason.
>>17483612
Bats wings are creepy because they have the same anatomy as elongated skinny human hands, with dark skin stretched between each digit. If you can't see how that can be uncanny you're trying too hard.
And I love bats btw

It lost it's fur as part of decomposition. Fur slides off in huge clumps on rotting carcasses. It's also missing it's snout because it's moist tissue in open air and therefore one of the first things to decompose.

Growing up we had this old chimney that used to hook up to a woodstove in our basement. But after we took out the stove, we'd get bats that would hang out in the chimney and every once in a while would end up in the house. We were never scared of them. My mom didn't want us messing with them because they can carry rabies, but I've always thought they were the coolest damn things.
