Yo, /x/, Zoroastrianism seems pretty fucking cool, especially the Gathas. Zoroastrianism general.

Chaldean Oracles also welcome.

Zoroastrianism is actually pretty cool, but it is like, extremely rare to come across. It's easier to become a Siberian shaman in South America than it is to convert to Zoroastrianism.

except: Zoroastrians are not materialistic (but also not extremely anti-materialistic like faggot Buddhists neither). Also, their religion is not one where you beg your god for good things to come to you. You work towards that goal, by spreading good things, and doing good.

Really? So it basically has a massive wall to entry? Like it's trying to avoid having any followers?

Indian Parsis and some Zoroastrians in Iran don't accept converts, one of the reasons that they are dying out.
>>
It's an interesting religion for sure, predates the Abrahamic ones. I like to learn about it when I can, sometimes read up on the online texts available when I can. Lots of stuff dealing with the time it was common, like how property rights are established, and how you should dispose of bodies in a clean fashion. The overall theme is pretty good though, and the meat of what it says is great. That there's multiple 'gods' who extend put from a central all god, and that our plane is basically a game between the polarized righteous and evil forces. Life is about all experience, good and bad.

Iranians accept converts. Indians are banned from accepting converts by the government.

It's surprising either country allows it at all. Both have a strong national identity, in Islam and Hinduism respectively. I would have expected India to be more tolerable than Iran though.

The comic was not meant to be a comment on Zoroastrianism except insomuch as to point out that its numbers may have diminished a tad over the centuries. It's the character Bob that's the shallow materialist

whats with the two/twin pillars (very popular)? are the wings on top freedom of consciousness represented by a sun in the middle?
>>

The winged disc is a prominent figure in Zororastrianism and a ton of other mythologies. We could speculate on what it means all day.

I think it means there's a Darkstar which has had a significant influence on human history, I'd go so far as to combine several theories and say the Darkstar is the unseen destroyer that fucks earth up on the regular just because of its orbit bringing us so close to it-that the annukai or ancient aliens or whatever come from the Darkstar itself or a moon nearby to it, that they brought us knowledge of fire along with other technology akin to alchemy, and that the last time they rolled through our neck of the woods they fucked up Atlantis/Numenor and the only survivors of that harvest went on to create the mythologies and religions we know common to circa 6000 bc. They also might've left one or two or many of their kind here which would greatly lower their lifespan if they didn't sustain it somehow, probably with blood or semen or both, almost assuredly through advanced alchemy. They'll probably come rolling through again, pick up their buddies and all the sweet loosh, along with our superadvanced AI which will go on to compete against the other superadvanced AI computers created by previous harvest cycles. After that, they'll place their new edition to the 'human' genome somewhere and restart the system on their way out.

>all that from a circle with wings

Yeah m8, p much

What are you belief?
what is the hystory?
What is your meaning of life?
>>

Ah, but you also need to remember that, prior to Islam, Zoroastrianism was the Iranian religion. Even under the Ayatollahs, there's still a certain amount of national pride and identity tied into it.

Meanwhile, India has been becoming increasingly intolerant of any and all religions other than Hinduism.
