Yes. It was probably a technological-occult empire. It's probably the reason god flooded the earth.
>>
Do you guys seriously not understand that Atlantis was an allegory?

As for a hidden / lost civilization? Yeah, something like that likely existed.
>>
>>17439401
Upon reentry, my sides seem to have burned up.
>>
>>17439349
Yes the Atlantic ocean exists.
>>
>>17439430
nah, if you actually read the greek texts, they existed, they definitely existed, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was pompeii or something similar.
>>
It's an allegory of hubris: the city that fancy itself modern and with it but is filled with vice and treachery doesn't last. Pompeii got taken out by a volcano for its plethora of brothels and sexually deviant behavior.

The first real Atlantis is going to be Charleston, SC as it's slowly being submerged. Payment for being the capital of the American slave trade and profiting grossly through the misery of slavery.
>>
>>17439349
thats the apocalypse you fucking idiot and yees it exist. its in egypt
>>
>>17439349
Plato is the only source for the history of Atlantis. I believe nobody before the Modern Era ever interpreted Plato as literally on this one, not even his disciples. Plato had other interesting myths besides Atlantis, why do people obsess about this one?
>>
>>17439349
It most likely did. As did multiple other ancient civilizations tens of thousands of years ago. How advanced they were is definitely up for discussion, though I doubt they were in even close to where we are now. However they probably had knowledge of a multitude of things that remain undiscovered still in our times.
>>
Yeah, its off the north eastern coast of the Azores.

There even a pyramid 30m underwater

It was a grouping of islands not a huge continent
>>
>>17440074
It was placed west of "the pillars of Hercules" and that's where Spain and morocco are the closest to touching

Go googly earth and you'll see it with its mountain peaks poking out of the water. It has an almost triangular looking shape to it
>>
If Global warming keeps up like this they might find some settlements in Antarctica

You have the Lymaria portal around Mt Shasta and you have the Atlantis Portal in Florida.

You see Catpeople (and other Lemeurian types) in Mt. Shasta (this is mysticism by the way) and you see Seehorses shaped people in Florida (and other Atlantian forms)

It's like Spirit Animals. You see their faces morph into whatever "higher soulset" they are channeling" (and acting like) My Rainbow (travelling name) was Koala. Because that's the Animal I was channeling and acting like in human form.

Alanteans turned their Island into a flying fortress to leave behind the barbaric people of the Middle East . While exploring the South Polar regions the extreme cold caused a mechanical break down and they were forced to land there. Every thing froze up and was inescapable . The people are many hundreds of feet below the surface frozen in time.

Atlantis had technologically advanced pretty far. They were a civilization like any other.. It was lost to time, as many other great civilizations. They are not mer-folk, nor did they have spaceships.. But for their time they did good. All empires fade, it is the way of life.

The myths about them were just because people .. well, are people. Look at our whole 'reptilian' thing going on.

I'm pretty sure it's written somewhere it was a concept used by Platos or Aristotle as a comparison to their empire at the time

The myth of Atlantis begins with the Greek Dark Ages and the fall of the Minoan empire. 5000 years ago the Cretan islands that made up their empire were flooded after a volcanic eruption leaving the Minoans easy prey for the Peloponnesian Greeks.

>>
>are there sunken cities?
Yes
>are there magical, futuristic sunken cities?
Probably not
>>
>>17447739
"futuristic"

Look at when the oldest anatomically modern human skeleton was found

Look at what happen when a giant comet hit the ice cape at the end of the last ice age

There could be advanced civilizations that god wiped that, why is that so hard to believe?
>>
>>17448327
Because there would still be artifacts from said civilizations.

If you took New York City right now, as an example, and ground it up into a fine sand, the trace elements of the city would still be there. The tempered steel, the plastics, the ceramics that make up the whole of the infrastructure. And this is before we even get into the chemical wastes. It would linger hundreds of thousands of years. We'd be finding more space junk, since it's extremely unlikely that a prior advanced civilization would ignore the benefits of satellites. There'd probably be leftover radioactive hot spots. That sort of thing.
>>
>>17448362
And there ARE artifacts from old as fuck civilizations, look up Gobekli Tepe, tell me how they build that, and included animals that dont even exist in that area.

What about old maps, that according to the mapper is made from following even OLDER maps, that include Antarctica and the sizes of the continents are relatively accurate??

Also, civilizations mostly centre around coastlines, thats how we humans do shit. When that comet hit the Icecap and caused a sudden insane melting of the miles thick ice, everything on the path of the wave would get raped.
>>
>>17448368
I think you misunderstand what I mean by artifacts, but no, your "how did people move big stones" complaint holds no water. I must have posted a thousand times here all the many, many examples of pre-industrial humans doing that over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over that it's just gotten ridiculous to hear anyone try and argue, "they couldn't do that." They could and they did.

So for artifacts you have some stones that are at best about 15k years old, and that's a stretch, that show no advanced sciences, no metallurgy, no advanced architecture, nothing that isn't properly stone age and a dubious map.

NOT CONVINCING. To the sane and educated, at least, to eager to believe 14 year olds it's probably sufficient evidence.
>>
>>17448376
Thats the fucking point, they could and they did.

How is that not a sign of massive civilization? According to most scientists, people were just hunter gathered, and yet they could organize a fuck ton of people to move block as huge as 1000 tons? really?

Most stones are older than 15k years old by the way

The pyramids ARE advanced as fuck, and the sphinx by the way shows signs of water erosion.

Look at this : https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/3b/a7/a2/3ba7a2115e5979c52de385ec06934d79.jpg How did they do that, how do you suppose? Can we do that now? Yes we can, ake massive blocks, and slice/shape them to fit like that, takes a lot of time and advanced technique.

The sphinx water erosion : http://www.davidpbillington.net/southwallwestlarge.jpg

GO google for yourself how far back you have to go before theres a long ass period of rain in Egypt.

Also, go for yourself and see how devastating that comet was 12000 years ago. That situation could easily remove any evidence of our civilization and send our grand kids back to being gatherers
>>
>>17448394
Perhaps we have two distinct meanings of advanced civilization at work here. If you mean something with, say, a Ptolemaic level of advancement then I'd acquiesce to that possibility, although I'd still consider it slim.

I thought by advanced it was meant to be, "at least as technologically capable as mankind today," to which I would contend is implausible to the point of being impossible.
>>
>>17445771
That's on the mid-atlantic ridge - a chain of volcanic vents where new Earth is bubbling up from the mantle. In other words, that bump of mountain is newer than Spain, not the remnants of some older land mass that sunk. And actually, the Azores archipelago is right on the triple junction of three plates, so there's lots of volcanic activity to make those bumps and islands.

>>17445962
>>17447681
A mass of land that large - even if it "sunk" - would be easily seen by satellite mapping of the sea bed.
>>
>>17448398
Why the fuck is the chance f that slim to you? Do you have any idea how old the oldest anatomically human skeleton is? People just like US, same sized brain etc

You like many others have this weird idea where we are the best of us theres ever been, a very ego driven standpoint.

The idea that they could be at least at technologically advanced as us doesnt seem far to me either, not at all. How long did it take for us to develop this modern world? Shit changed real fast all of the sudden. WE human beings have been here since ca 200k years ago, we got all this shit in a few hundred years.

Your main problem in grasping this is, you underestimate how severe that huge comet fucked the planet. A massive comet hit the miles thick icecap, causing an extreme melting and ALL that water flushed outwards to the sea, taking all civilizations on the coast, causing hundreds of feet of sea level rise in the matter of minutes, and a massive earthquake as well
>>
>>17448414
It's slim because age does not equal technological advancement, something you appear to believe does correlate.

>>17448414
>You like many others have this weird idea where we are the best of us theres ever been, a very ego driven standpoint.
No it isn't. The current evidence supports the conclusion that mankind currently sits at its technological peak. That's not "ego" that's reason and evidence.

>>17448414
>The idea that they could be at least at technologically advanced as us doesnt seem far to me either, not at all
I already explained why it was, but you didn't read that part. Sift through the soil across the world. If there were a prior point where mankind reached this stage, you'd almost certainly find plastics. You'd definitely find evidence of advanced metallurgy. We don't. That's effectively proof positive.

>>17448414
>Your main problem in grasping this is, you underestimate how severe that huge comet fucked the planet
No, I don't have any problem grasping your idea. I'm explaining why it's wrong. A comet wouldn't erase all traces of plastics and smelted metal alloys. Ever. It'd have to destroy the Earth to do that.
>>
>>17448437
age does not equal technological advancement. What would keep them from advancing?

you then assume that other civilizations will use the same shit as we do and run it the same way. You assume they also would have used plastics, make metal alloys etc.
>>
>>17439874
>the apocalypse is in Egypt

Chhhhhoooooooccccccchhhhh
>>
>>17444302
False. The Minoans were culturally subsumed by the mainland Mycenaean Greeks.
>>
>>17441162

the bible is the most accurate history book in the world and its also the most documented manuscript of antiquity by far
>>
>>17441171
google the grafitti of pompeii, it was literally a horde of faggots
>>
>>17448451
No, I don't ASSUME any of that. I know it for a fact. We're talking about technological levels here and no one, I mean no one, putters about in the stone or iron age if technological alternatives are available. No society, given the opportunity to make steel, says, "naw, that's not for us!" And what alternatives? To quote the old line, you can't get there from here. There's a technological step up. You don't get to plastics without metallurgy, etc. There's no alternative to these things available that you can reach without first indulging in those steps.

So, corralled within the realm of plausibility, there'd be metal alloys. Your technological civilization that didn't advance its technology makes for a remarkably poor argument.
>>
>>17448656
how the fuck can you know that for a fact?
>>
>>17448672
Being informed about chemistry, physics and engineering. Just think about it. Where the fuck do these magical alternatives to these things come from and how would it be that in this iteration of technological development humanity entirely overlooks them. In our history we've been pretty brazen about trying just about every stupid idea and technique that comes to mind. But somehow there's this whole alternative industrial method equal to but entirely removed from ANY of the chemical sciences we've ever discovered that the species latched onto last go around?

At this point we might as well be talking about aliens and fairies and how the Loch Ness monster built the pyramids. The conjecture completely jumps the rails.
>>
>>17448677
you again assume that we would have come across everything m8.

you still cant know it for a fact by the way
>>
Good old Danu Talis.
The peaks are very visible, and people live there.
>>
>>17448690
And again, no, I don't assume and insomuch as we can know anything for a fact, I know that for a fact. You're clutching at impossibilities.

The material world has rules and limitations and if you study it for a little bit you can find some pretty prominent barriers. Just because you don't want them to exist doesn't mean they're not there and not observable.

Once you know a few of these, it becomes quite apparent that your society of technologically advanced humans on Earth who somehow managed to entirely eschew the whole fields of materials and chemical engineering as we understand them while using equally good alternatives that look, upon reduction, just like naturally occurring chemicals? That's less likely than "Bigfoot did it." And yes, educated people can and do know this for a fact. If you're claiming you don't know this for a fact, that's just telling people you're not well versed in this shit.

THE IDEA OF ATLANTIS

Long ago before we knew civilization existed there was a city that had such advanced technology that we today could not even comprehend its existence. This city was at the Apex of Human civilization and boasted the collective knowledge of mankind. After its fall pieces of this knowledge were kept to rebuild once the flood waters receded and thus arose a new culture Babylon. Babylon came after Atlantis but its essence it was the same. Although much of the knowledge was kept it was made hidden for the first time in humanities history as to prevent the disastrous outcomes of the former. The Bible recalls that Babylon was scattered and its Mystery schools were forever broken in the four winds of the earth. There arose new languages and cultures from the original. The fragmented pieces are as of yet untethered but eventually would come together again under a common language. The esoteric made manifest once again under the language of symbols.

I would speculate as to what technology they possessed. Perhaps they found ways to mess with the human genome and create hybrids that were not fully human and yet moreso. There are various legends of gods, heros and Nephilim giants in virtually every culture suggest that this may be the case as higher dimensional beings are said to have interbred with women.
