what does /x/ think about trepanation??

I am considering trepanation, but I'm too much of a pussy to do it. Anyone know where I should go for this kind of operation??

...anon.

Did you read Homunculus recently, by any chance?

Nope, I just saw a documentary about "A heartbeat in the brain" about 3 months ago.
>>
>>17386982
Stupid idea.
>>
>>17387058
Interesting.
Anyway, trepanation is obviously risky. If you're eventually convinced to proceed, you'll need a possibly sterile environment, and the help of a professional.

I'm not against this, since it's simply another form of body modification.
But still, assure me you won't do this alone.

I'm to scared of killing myself for that, but I don't know where to go to get trepanned..

you are now aware that you are a brain sitting inside a head

You're going all out for the "die alone a virgin" title aren't you OP?

Is there something in particular you want to achieve, through trepanation? What are you looking for, anon?
>>
Can someone explain the point of this to me?
>>
>>17387204
I want to see if it really works, if it can affect my senses and make my brain work better. I'm not really into cults and "third eye" stuff tho
>>
>>17387219
It's basically a drilled hole in your skull, you can live your life normally with a hole in your skull. It's supposed to make your brain more like when it was when you were a child and the skull wasn't fully formed and facilitate blood circulation
>>
not op, I was thinking of somehow paralyzing, removing or somehow disabling limbic area of brain to fully get rid of emotions, but losing long term memory is not something I can lose without some preparation.
I would need many, many notebooks and pens.
>>
>>17387521
And why do you want that?
>>
>>17387058
Oh shit is it as gnarly as it's reputation suggests? I heard people would pass out all the time at screenings.
>>
>>17387527
Well, why wouldn't I?
Cold logic is best logic
not being able to feel attachment to anything makes you truly free
also, sociopath as side effect, but whatever
If some day brain surgeries will go commercial, I am deffinitely getting one
>>
You probably just have too much blood. Try some leeches.

You can make a cut on your upper arm and bleed yourself as well.

This forbidden wisdom was known to our ancestors.
>>
>>17387567
so you are basically saying that he should cut himself?
who are you, emo assistance guy?
>>
>>17387533
I saw a documentary on the original documentary, I didn't see the full scene of the self-trepanation
>>
>>17387567
LOL, sorry but I kinda agree with >>17387584
>>
>>17387550
Interesting.. Can you tell me more about the subject??
>>
>>17387604
Oh okay. Do you know if the actual film is still available? I read a piece about if (and, obviously, trepanation in general) in the Apocalypse Culture book (edited by Adam Parfrey, published by the great indie publishing house Feral Press), very interesting, went right back into the earliest recorded history of the practice. Supposedly makes you feel "high" all the time. Not summat I'd wanna eff with, personally, but each to their own.
>>
>>17387521
>>17387550

You're an idiot.
>>
>>17386982
I think it's absolute horseshit. I can believe in many things but this isn't one of them. Go ahead if you want to mutilate your forehead though.
>>
>>17386982
youre fuckin retarded op lmao
>>
>>17388267
I definitely don't believe the "high" aspect of it, but I do believe the other things that it can do to your body in general. Oh and I don't think the original movie is available tho, I've been searching for it for a while now.
>>
So does anyone have any idea where I could get trepanned?
>>
>>17388354

yeah. come on over to my dungeon, faggot.
>>
>>17388398

>>
It's very easy to do yourself and very simple, as well as relatively painless.

>>17387567
Or you can just donate blood and make that otherwise wasted blood go to a good use.
I thought that it was common knowledge that it's good to lose some blood every now and then so that it regenerates and gets "cleaned".
>>
>>17387550
Let me guess, your a high schooler.
>>
>>17388436
I am tempted, but I really don't want my friends to find me dead or braindead
>>
>>17388349
Alright. Thanks. Gonna check out this>>17388436
now and see what Vice hafta say about it! Cool thread btw mang. Will see if I can find the Apocalypse Culture book and throw up a scan if I do; it was only 7 or 8 pages but interesting. My bookshelves are in utter disarray though!

Someone made a documentary about a documentary?

>>17388267
Its not lost, it was screened in 2011 at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London

>not being able to feel attachment to anything makes you truly free
You won't FEEL anything without emotion. You won't ever be happy again.
>>
>>17388443
>I thought that it was common knowledge that it's good to lose some blood every now and then so that it regenerates and gets "cleaned".
That's neither a common belief, nor a correct one.
>>
>>17390736
Have you seen it?
>>
>>17390964
>Have you seen it?
Sadly no
>>
I often get a fantasy about trepanning. I suffer from migraine headaches very consistently and feel like my brain is pushing the inside of my skull. I would love to feel release, like popping a pimple.
>>
>>17387567
that is pretty edgy anon
>>
>>17387567

I was implying that trepanning is about as intelligent as balancing your humors.

The four assholes that replied to this should viper kill themselves my mans.
>>
>>17387098
>simply another form of body modification
implying that's okay
