Ah, a horror movie thread? I like these.

The Nightmare
The Thing
Creep
Reanimator
The Fly
Tales From The Darkside
It Follows
Noroi: The Curse
The Poughkeepsie Tapes
Lake Mungo
Evil Things

I'll post more later.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes is a great film. That movie just kicks your ass. Definite recommendation. The idea that it plants in your brain at the end leaves you very unsettled.
>>

Just watched Last Shift. It was fun, but it was really nothing but like 6 jump scares in 2 minutes. Didn't leave you disturbed, but it was a good time.

The Nightmare freaked me out. Like couldn't sleep later on. Creep was disturbing as well. I'll have to check out Re-animator.

>The Poughkeepsie Tapes
>Lake Mungo

These are both very psychological in nature, though for different reasons. PT starts as a typical horror movie and devolves into an examination of how and why the murderer gets his pleasure from the act. Lake Mungo is a slowburner that solidifies itself as a top 10 horror film during the ending credits. It becomes an extremely disturbing exploration of just how little we know about each other, and how little we care.

Is there any movies (preferably about skinwalkers or other native spirits or bad stuff) that leave a persisting feeling of dread? Jumpscares are well and good, bug I want to fear for my life for like three hours afterwards. Only a few stories have able to do this to me, where my eyes are watering and I'm filled with dread for a number of hours afterwards.

I'll probably get mullered for this.. but, I thought 'The Taking of Deborah Logan' was pretty spoopy for the first hour. It was hard to watch, and the old woman was fucked up.

The end let it down.

It suffers from terrible acting due to the actors being mostly just friends of the filmmakers.

Last Shift was interesting. While I was watching it I was thinking in the line, "if you are seeing Godzilla, then run with the crowd", like, if you are seeing all that stuff in your face, then it must be real.
The end got me good, it was very nice.

>Bunch of stupid hoes bitching and bickering in a cave while being watched by gremlins

I don't understand why this piece of shit gets recommended in every horror movie thread. It's just so fucking shit. It could have been so fucking good if they simply dropped the fucking drama and actually made an effort to convey the claustrophobia instead of making shitty monsters.

Some have probably been posted before, I haven't checked.

>Banshee Chapter (like a modern day "From Beyond")
>Taking of Deborah Logan (ending is a let down, but it's kinda creepy)
>Green Inferno (non-sense but I liked the gore)
>Bone Tomahawk (not really horror, but I liked it a lot. It's like a western with cannibals)
>The Possession of Michael King (I thought it was creepy, but I'm probably the only one)
>Noroi The Curse (a must see imo)
>Martyr (the original, not the fucking american remake)
>Hidden (the one from 2015, it's a stuck in a bunker movie with a nice twist)
>Ich Seh Ich Seh (a german horror art film, didn't expect to like it, but it's pretty good)
>Area 51 (I liked how they explain how they get in Area 51, but once they're in the movie goes downhill)
>The Conspiracy (pretty good found footage movie)
>Lifeforce (probably the most underrated movie of all time (and pic related, I censored it so I don't get b&). It is, as an IMDB user puts it, "The greatest naked space vampire zombies from Halley's Comet running amok in London end-of-the-world movie ever made". Couldn't agree more)
>Anything by Lucio Fulci (cheesy music, gory as fuck, plots that makes no sense but entertaining as fuck)
