What religion were they, truly?
Were there any holy catholic or christian orders that were truly mystical? That practiced or studied things that would be considered paranormal or supernatural, even today?
Who knows the 300 years is a long time between Templars and Masonry, a lot of them retreated to Switzerland and became mountain Jews, they were also active on the Iberian peninsula, we may never know there true nature. That being said the devotion they should on the battlefield indicates a strong belief in an afterlife what ever else they did who cares.

They were the first Mormons. Don't believe me? Do some research.

So the ultimate fate and demise of the knights was to be swindled by Joseph Smith? Man that'd be a pitiful and depressing ending.
Knights Templar Cartel.

The bizarrely named Caballeros Templarios (Knights Templar). As the name suggests, these narcos are inspired by the Jerusalem-based crusaders who fought in the name of Christ between 1119 and 1312, at which point the Pope disbanded them. But unlike their medieval idols, these thugs cook up crystal meth, and have left scores of mutilated corpses strewn about Michoacan since their emergence as a group.
The Knights Templar Cartel claims to be pious and patriotic protectors of the Michoacan community even as they traffic and murder. When they first announced themselves they hung more than 40 banners, across the state saying "Our commitment is to safeguard order, avoid robberies, kidnapping, extortion, and to shield the state from rival organizations".

New members of an infamous Mexican drug cartel were forced to eat children's hearts as part of a gruesome initiation rite, informers told authorities in the western state of Michoacan.
Officials investigating an organ trafficking ring allegedly run by the Knights Templar cartel said there is evidence the late gang boss Nazario Moreno demanded that recruits proved their loyalty through an act of cannibalism.

Knights Templar Cartel branching out into organ sales, these guys are organized ghouls:
The March arrest in Mexico’s Michoacán state of Knights Templar cartel member Manuel Plancarte Gaspar on suspicion of organ trafficking has brought this under-researched and mostly overlooked form of human trafficking into the spotlight. Plancarte Gaspar is alleged to have been part of a cartel ring that would target people – particularly children – for kidnapping to facilitate the harvesting and sale of their organs. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the Knights Templar cartel, which no longer counts drug trafficking as its primary source of income, has turned to organ trafficking. It is, after all, an incredibly lucrative trade, with trafficked kidneys selling for about $150,000 each and hearts pulling in as much as $1.5 million apiece.

Mexicunt here. This cartel has nothing to do with the Templars in any shape or form. They just took the name Templars and used it for their own nasty deeds. You would have to be a naive idiot to believe they are related to the Templars.

They believe it.
They have tons of money and guns and drugs.
/x/ has posted over and over again pictures and misspelled words, we are right, they are wrong
the templars where catholic , when tried they were aquited and declared not guilty. The only reason the templars where wiped out was greed of the king and had no connection to religion. As to the second question every monastic order has mystics with unique traditions. An example would be the Order of Friars Minor. Who are basically druids.

Isis is part of Islam then, yes?
I want to believe the hype but they were probably a banker cult that trumped up their own prestige for the sake of profiting from the crusades and their strong affiliation with the church during a period where Europe was relatively united.

Just a typicall catholic knighthood order. Maybe they tried to find some holy things, but that's all.
Victims of a bad King too

Catholic. With maybe a bit of Baptist/Manichean flavouring over time.

Definitely. Read the kuran thry do exactly what mohammed did.
And if they succeed all muslims will call them brave warriors and brothers
>>17368815
Yeah, they were "Christian" in a loose sense. I don't really think that crusading and greedily hording treasure is a very Christian thing to do, though.

They were Catholic. The only /x/-tier thing bout them was them disappearing with their money. Everything else was propaganda.
They were Catholic.
It's just that they discovered that banking and lending money was a really, really, really profitable business and great way to power.
Then again... the curse of Friday the 13th was particularly effective. King Phillip and Pope Clement died pretty quickly.
As for what happened to them afterwards, it's debated. Some were absorbed into other orders, or evolved into new orders, or just disappeared with the gold.
Though this doesn't stop the conspiracies that they still exist, went into banking, and are firmly established in the old money establishment of Europe and the New World.
People still drop off flowers and kneel down before the plaque in Paris that shows where Jacques de Molay was burned.
Christians, but their power and influence was a threat to the Catholic Church and the King of France.
If the Templars had continued to grow and gain power in Europe. They could have established a new theocratic christian Empire in Europe.

They became Medpacks.

Knight's Hospitaller did exorcisms from time to time. That hailed back to their medical roots though, so it was done with the intent of helping the patient. There were probably good guys in every order, but I have never heard of a bad Hospitaller.
My ancestors were knights templar. Didn't know much about their personal lives, though...

With that patriarchal attitude? They are so blind to their privilege.
