Can anybody help me remember the name of something? My mom told me about it a long time ago and I remember seeing a movie that had it shoehorned in as a joke. I thought it was "little green men" but apparently I was wrong.

A long time ago, something happened and the government or the authorities went on the air(radio) and warned people to watch out for little green men, and to stay inside and lock their doors.

I've been googling this for the past hour and I can't find shit. The closest thing to it is the Roswell incident and the LA weather balloon thing, and I don't think I'm confusing this incident with those.
