I'm a bit of a casual with paranormal things, so please bare with me, but are tulpas real? My friend claims to have made one and he interacts with her when he's on skype with me, but he's also the kind of guy that would probably do that to fuck with me.

Is it possible to create a tulpa? If so, how? And are there any negative effects to having one?

They don't interact with anything or anyone besides the person who "creates" them, they are simply imaginary friends. However, for the people that do believe in them I heard they can really dick up your brain if you let it get out of hand.
