Hey guys,
This thread is just to talk about Vedic astrology (yes, it's quite different from Western astrology).
I used to make threads here and give readings. Not giving any now just miss talking about the subject.
Have a nice day!

So how different is it? A basic overview, maybe?
>>17316886
It's the same.
>>17316893
I guess you can't really think of anything more than the seven planetary objects...
>>17316886
Well we don't use Neptune, Uranus or Pluto, and when we talk about your "sign" we refer to the Moon sign. Also, vedic is based on the actual planetary positions, so it's about 23 degrees difference from Western.
Those are just some differences. Vedic also has many many more things in it that Western never even explored.

Says the OP that didn't contribute to any discussion at all.

The transsaturnian planets are anyway a product of modern era, no? I think classical astrology is to be considered here.
What are these unexplored things?
>>17316852
Give me a reading.

> transsaturnian planets
Sorry what's that?
>What are these unexplored things?
Dasha system, for one. Many more you'd have to find for yourself. Some I don't even recall by name, but just know how they work/are calculated.
Also, we have the ancient texts by sages from many moons ago.

The planets beyond Saturn, i.e. the astrological planets that you can't see with a naked eye and are more conceptual than the ones you can "see moving"
Is that like, attributing a different set of characteristics to the planetary bodies?

Dasha is about prediction timing of events in one's life. Marriage, death, kids, career, etc. I don't know how accurate it is.
The general meanings of the planets are too similar to those in Western but there are distinct differences as well.

Yup, they are Western not Eastern. That's what is boils down to. The sages did not say o use them. But we also have many invisible planets like Ketu and Rahu which greatly influence us.

>we also have many invisible planets
pics or they don't exist
>>17317226
Rahu and Ketu are the moon's shadow planets. When there is less than a full moon it is because Ketu (or rahu, i forgot honestly) is covering it.

What's that? lol
>>17316886
We have nakshatras which is 27 star constellations every planet goes through. There are 2.5 nakshatras per zodiac sign and delve deeper than the zodiac
Moon's nakshatra is significantly interesting
>>17317322
Any parallels between Mesopotamian/Greek constellations and these nakshatras?
>>17317322
Also, so how many constellations are there?
>>17317322
And how many zodiac signs?
sorry for asking in three distinct posts haha
