What we are supposed to do is regain the Spirit of God that Adam and Eve lost, that is to say to be "born again" in the Spirit, from above, and from that state be transformed into new creations in Christ Jesus who can live face-to-face with God Himself. And from those transformed and glorified bodies, to eat freely from whatever trees you desire.
The Father guarded Adam and Eve from being immortally and eternally lost, and provided to them a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

You can achieve longevity, but even then it is simply a delay of the inevitable. In order to grow, to learn, to take in and develop, you need to age. Maybe you can slow the process of how much you age, keeping your functions moving forward but at a steadier pace, but death is an inevitability.
Even so, you were never truly alive in the sense that you thought, and you don't die in such a sense either. You're just stardust in the form of a degrading computer, you were never anything but, and when you die you won't "change" or pass on anywhere. You're just as much dust now as you were before and you will be when you die, simply in the formation of a circuit that simulates the effect we call "consciousness".
