I read this one recently. What's annoying and nearly kills the suspension of disbelief in this manga is how up to a certain point in the story, the townsfolk would resume their daily lives as if nothing had happened in the previous days and weeks, save for the heroine's bf maybe. I mean come on, people die everyday in gruesome ways, undergo horrific transformations, or go completely insane, or all of these at the same time, and yet nobody gives a single shit, not even their relatives? It's like there's no continuity whatsoever and it's a mere "monster of the week" piece of fiction. It feels off.
Still a great read though.

Sorry if it's been mentioned in this thread, but I can't remember the name of it so I can't search for it.
I read this one manga a while back, it was a few hundred pages long I think. It was about a bunch of people in this little town becoming obsessed with spirals. There was one guy who stuck himself in this machine that twisted his body up into a long bloody coil (killing him obviously) and his mom became so traumatized by something else related to spirals that she developed a phobia, then later found out that there was a spiral shaped organ inside the human ear and so she used an ice pick or cork screw or something to dig it out of her own skull.
Anybody know the one I'm talking about?
Also if anybody has a source on pic related that'd be pretty fuckin cool.
