So what ever happened with the supposed "Mega-structure" astronomers theorized about the star known as KIC 8462852? Any updates on this?

Anything you guys have..

Let's discuss.

What if it's just a new type of planet or something we simply haven't observed yet. Space is pretty big dude

Completely possible, there could be planets that are not even solid.. anything is possible, maybe it has various parts but not necessarily connected.

From what I've read KIC 8462852 seems to be a main sequence star that is similar in size to the sun, so earth-like planets are completely plausible. It's impossible to put any likelihood number on the Alien question at the moment because we simply don't know enough. But we will know it soon enough if it's Aliens.

its a mass relay

What if it's just space?

i bet it is absolutely nothing interesting.. just like always

how you doin?

Gravity only works in certain ways
>>
>>17282802
The dips in the light don't have normal orbital period planets have

>>17282894
Space doesn't dim the light from a star

The orbital patterns of galaxies beg to differ.

Not saying you're wrong, mind.

>>17282987
Gravity always works in the same way but you don't always not how much mass is where with dark matter being 26 percent of the universe

More like - How are we doing?!

Better.

The dimming of the star's light is not caused by comets. So scientists are kind of stuck on the mystery.

I like how that article is out for ten days and no one noticed nor cared about the missing exponent sign in 10^27.

Perhaps it's a spot composed differently than the rest of the surrounding area, the rest might reflect more so it appears to dim light. The surrounding area is that much 'brighter'

It's on hold at the moment because frankly no one has a reasonable answer. They can't exactly put out statements saying ''umm the most likely answer at this point is an alien superstructure'' because it's not credible.

I'm dying waiting for more info on this.
