While his films are pretty nice as far as occult cinema is concerned, I've heard him talk a few times about Thelema and I'm under the impression that Marjorie Cameron coulnd't train him well, or thought he was a dead end and sorta gave up. Given the richness of her experiences after Jack's death, my bet's with the second option.
