Ok so theoretically time. our world has never had any contact with any extra terrestrial life of any kind, the government is not covering anything of that sort up. But we are exploring still, and finding new planets and things in space etc. So what if we were to bump in to a full civilization of other beings today, or tomorrow or whenever? what are the realistic odds of us hearing about this? like best case scenario, they're all friendly and technology sharing and resource helping but would our society be able to deal? or would we not even get the chance?

we would probably freak out and attack them. humans are too stupid to accept something so foreign. if the government is hiding aliens, it's for their safety not because they are evil.
