I noticed this on my arm one morning last October, it faded gradually over the course of 10 days, had the condition and appearance of a hickey, no bruising or sensitivity.
Also, I don't own any object with that pattern to impress myself with.

Google found some other cases of this on a forum post on ATS which is normally grade-A garbage but on a personal chat forum level you find some interesting things.

This picture is some other person's arm, I saved it because I was staggered by the similarity
