If I have an alter ego I use to get me out of specific situations, that actually works, is that a Tulpa?
I know it's a method used by performers, eg, Beyonce and Sasha Fierce, method actors all over the world who just become their favorite character, but I want to understand what's happening here and why it does work.

No, we think that thing is not tulpa.
By folk rumors, actors have not one soul, but souls, multiple. This is doubtful feature for an ordinary human.

Acting isn't paranormal. It looks like you're getting a few different topics confused into being related, one of which is from an anime.
For discussion on acting and the psychology behind it, you should go to an acting forum. Tulpa discussion can go here but it usually dissolves into shitposting so don't get your hopes up. For jojo discussion, go to /a/.

Now that sounds interesting, anywhere I can read up more on that?

>Tulpa discussion can go here but it usually dissolves into shitposting
why is that ?

For the same reason that succubus/demon summoning threads get filled with shitposting. It's all lonely, edgy anons that are looking for a substitute for actual human interaction

So Tulpas aren't real and what OP is experiencing has basis in behavioral psychology over the paranormal?
Thanks.

Of course tulpas aren't real, all of it is just in your head.
It's from Bloodborne
