Prometheus Rising is a truly life-changing book. But Wilson was really just a populist and synthesist of other people's work.
The next step is to read Aleister Crowley and Timothy Leary, who are Wilson's main sources. (In that order. Crowley is supremely readable and a literary genius ... Leary, not so much.)
