Samurai radical or earth

I understand that the Cross above the horizontal line represents earth by it's self.

But with one or two horizontal lines drawn below -I'm unsure of.

This means literally earth, dirt or mud

I can't find a picture, but does anyone know what a triangle surrounded by three smaller circles represents?

No, that's 山. 土 is "do" or "tsuchi" and means earth.
