Why bother wasting your time thinking about it. If god exists and you meet him, he'll have no argument to why you ignored religion. He made you that way, how can he punish you for it?
If god doesn't exist then you have wasted so much time thinking and praying on it. Some people waste their entire lives for a god. It doesn't really matter though.
