Entertainment has always been in decline, for the fact that the more people come in contact with music, films or books as time passes cause it to be dumbed down to reach an audience as wider as possible.
Books were a rich man's business a hundred years ago, now they're easier to read and easier to enjoy because they're simple and mundane.
