story: every night just before 2am, all of the radios in and around my house pickup a creepy noise I can only describe as a scifi-sounding zooming/phasing noise. it goes away after 5 minutes. I've timed it. every single night.
tried turning off everything in my house, still picked up even on a portable battery-powered radio with the main breaker flipped (protip: having your breaker turned off at 2am while listening to creepy sounds on the radio alone is a good way to scare the shit out of yourself).
here's the clip. I've filtered out background noise and amplified by 20db in audacity.

I remember years ago my speakers kept picking up what sounded like super faint radio... heard voices etc even when unplugged from computer. I don't know if there is more to that, something sciency something.

That's not uncommon. The wire acts as an antenna and picks up radio waves. It's unnerving if you don't know what's going on, though.

If it's something internal you should set up cameras around your house, or get a perimeter alarm system, just to make sure nothing is entering your house and doing crap. Or even better, maybe a UFO is flying right above your house and messing with you... Throw a rock up above your house.
