Actually proof that Big Pharma isn't as powerful as it seems.
Shkreli was a PR disaster that reinforced everything the public believes about Big Pharma, and will make them push much harder for stronger regulations. Every second he continued to publicly exist in the pharmaceutical field was actively harming them - embodying every single stereotype of the most evil, money-grubbing possible corporate dictator. If "evil but extremely competent" was the main cause of Big Pharma's failures, they would have shut him down immediately.
(Also, proof that our drug licensing, patent, and generics system is massively fucked. Shkreli could only do what he did because of massive problems in the legislation created to restrain pharma companies.)
