I think its wishful thinking. Just a legend. She very likely couldn't have escaped. Interestingly enough,I went to a thriftstore recently and found a little photo in a very old looking frame that seems to be of Alexei. Wearing a very similar outfit to the many he was photographed in,with the striped collar. But I havent found the pic online so I cant be sure its him. Maybe I'll post it when I go back upstairs and find it.

There's no mystery. All people claiming to be her have been proven false with their actual identities discovered. All the corpses of the Romanovs have been accounted for.
