It's very interesting to say the least. If half the shit they claim to be true is, then I'd say there was treasure there at some point. I mean, the flood holes, the tablets, the coconut fibers, etc. It all sounds really good, but who knows if it's legit? It's not beyond the pale for this to be some gay TV stunt, with fake props, hired "locals", lucky finds, etc. Unless they can dig up actual historical connections to people and events I doubt I'll ever believe they found anything 100%

As someone who lives somewhat near there, I can tell you that the only treasure you'll find on oak Island are those sweet sweet tourism dollars.
There might have been something buried down there once, but I doubt it was anything valuable enough for all the hype, besides, it's way too flooded now so I'm not really sure why they continue with the show.

What makes oak island interesting is that every time they dig they find a new layer. Like the tablet and the fibers eyc. Even the flooding defense is cool but I don't understand how we didn't hit bottom. I've read some interesting theories that it's just a ship wrecked on its ass end facing up, which would make a pretty deep tiered hole with many of the older ships that were transcontinental. The chances of that seem pretty fucking far fetched, though, but I guess not as far fetched as all these middle aged faggots making this deep fucking hole to hide some bs holy grail or just gold or whatever in a space where modern science even has trouble exploring - much less establishing residence basically.
Probably some bs made up 10 years ago in preparation for the history (fan fiction) channel. I live in halifax NS. about 45 mins away from there. shit's real. I own 2 books about it. I went to visit the island once but there's a big sign saying do not enter and offering times for guided tours. When I went, 2 tourists with accents showed up a minute after, looked at the sign then drove on to the island, not even 5 minutes later and a big black truck with tinted windows pulled up on drove onto the island after them. somethings up there, but I'm not sure what.

I know you like to think there's something way over our heads going on there, but you need to think of it as a themepark, not an archaeological site. They're invested in people not messing with their money maker; i.e. people trying to conduct their own 'investigations' and getting to 'the truth,' people stealing shit on site, freelance exploratory digging or better yet someone just walking into an old dig shaft and dying. I'm not trying to high horse ya here bro it just doesn't seem like a stretch... at all. A lot of legitimate people employ some kind of security and they don't have the notoriety of years of folklore bullshit, different books by various "experts" and a TV show to attract loonies from all over North America with the aptitude to fall in a mineshaft in pursuit of getting to the 'bottom' of the truth.
