There's a story my grandpa told me of a war vet he was friends with who came from a vampire lineage. I personally have met him as well. He was around 50ish when I met him and my grandpa fought alongside him in Vietnam. The guy hasn't aged more than like 5 years since mid 70s. I met him in late 90s, unlike grandpa was in his mid 30s in 70s and is now 84, this gentleman who was mid 40ish was still around the same age.

Grandpa is still reluctantly skeptical of everything paranormal and believes that this guy has been shitting him for the last 40 or so years. These days the old gramps is genrally too tired and too busy with newspapers and friends and family events to care about his old friend, the last time they met (nothing is wrong just that circumstances havent allowed them to meet again in a while) was in 2005.
When l met him in 1996 (gramps was a chirpy guy in his mid 60s then) we were at a restraint and had a dinner and it was mostly them who talked.
The movie stereotype of vampires is pathetically wrong, they aren't pale looking movie stars but look quite normal. He was definitely pale but didn't look like some overtly handsome movie star or anime character.
Some observations of mine :
1. He was quite pale as if he didn't get out of his house at all, hasn't been since he came back from vietnam or something
2. No scars or significant body marks for someone who has been in a gruesome war
3. Sounded very eloquent and according to gramps, the guy has lots of life experience. He sounded really knowledgeable to my then 15 year old ears but he could speak in french, German, Vietnamese, Chinese and some Korean.
4. His reactions were rather dulled, for example he didn't Crack up at jokes or his eyes didn't brighten when he saw gramps... most of the time it was just plain pokerface.
5. There was a sense of something really old and timeless about him in a sense. If you guys are familiar with doctor who (one of the shows I watch every now and then) you'd know when I say how the doctor feels old and knowledgeable, like he's been reading a lot or is way older than his body shows. That's the kind of feeling one would get from him if one spent 2 or so hours chatting with him or listening to him. He also used lots of old words, which means either he was a show off or anot English major which explains why he was forced to join the military

He was a captain I believe like gramps. There are several stories but I'll tell you when and why gramps started talking about these things if he was such a big skeptic.
He has never really mentioned much about his involvement in the army. He's a lovely guy, but hes kinda racist. He has seen people been burnt alive, cut into pieces, mutilated, raped, stabbed till their guts fell out and so on. The entire debacle of Vietnam where soldiers were both fearful and cheery with their youth bravado about saving merrica and freedums was an overwhelming experience. All that shit he saw kinda made him hate all the Asia in general. He doesn't hate any particular race but the local Asian hatred of American soldiers kinda riled him up.
Anyways so he did spend a lot of time telling war stories about how they took a bunch of vietcong rebels by storm, how they had to protect themselves from snipers and so on. Mostly just badass stories, nothing too gory and no mention of deaths of his friends and so on.
So in between these he would also include Captain Harrison, our esteemed vampire soldier. He first met him in the late 60s and he looked like he was in his 40s then. He was already a captain and it seemed most soldiers liked the guy but still avoided him. There are also rumors that soldiers who had committed suicide or had died were actually killed by captain vamp. One of the bodies also had fang marks which were dismissed as snake bite.
Captain vamp practically trained gramps through the years so he saw him as a mentor and eventually a good friend. His behavior was anti social in some respects though

He's a very very distant family friend and we aren't even sure of vampires exist. He seems to have an intellectual nature so unlikely he'd do anything to us.
