There's numerous purportedly haunted forests around where I live and I've spent some time exploring on/off trails. Pretty much confirmed them all as being full of human weirdos. A body was found in one a few weeks back. Confirmed murdered by a crazy human. Randomly shot the guy who was out for a walk, took his credit card. I'm not a complete skeptic in the paranormal but there's a certain terror in finding out Scooby Doo style that the explanation isn't "nothing's actually happening", it's "people do some fucked up shit all the time until they get caught".
