Back in the dial up days of AOL's infancy i was 13 or 14 looking for porn, big surprise. My parents had me as a restricted user, so 99% of the internet was blocked. However, you could go into private rooms where people ran programs (proggies lol), where you typed in a word or phrase or whatever, and you'd be added to an email list. A timer would count down and your inbox would be flooded with 50+ emails, each with a jpg attached. Rooms would get shut down by AOL spawning countless rooms with acronyms titles i had no idea of the meaning. On a sick day home from school i was going my emails, looking to jerk off. I had a 28.8 modern, and waiting for a pic to download could take anywhere from 30seconds to 5mins. I ended up downloading a picture of 3 children, 2 were completely butchered, dismembered, with skinned torsos laid in a neat pile with decapitated heads in front of what was their bodies. The other was in the process of being butchered. The image is burned into my mind and I've never seen it again, nor do i want to.

My sister's partner is a diver. He's in charge of each site they work on, so he's got to organise everything that happens in each site. He needs to know who's going in and out of the harbour, how long he's supposed to take, what equipment they need, etc...
Recently he was working on a job cleaning a ship when he got a sceduled warning from a nearby ferry that they (the ferry) were scheduled to leave in 10 minutes. As per usual, he immediately started calling all his divers out of the water. But, in less than 5 minutes, definitely NOT according to schedule, the ferry started their propellors.
These fucking things are about 6 feet in length, and there's 4 of them, one behind the other. If you get pulled into those things, you're gonna die.
In a panic, he fucking SCREAMED at everyone to fucking bail from the water. He sent an emergency shutdown signal to the ferry and they fucking ignored it.
One of his divers was less than 10 feet away from these monster propellors, and only barely reached the dive ladder before the water around him started swirling into the propellors. If that guy had been in the water for another second he would have been mulched.
I have never seen him drink so much as that day when he got home.
There was a massive inquiry. He had tons of phone recordings of the whole thing, so he's not fucked, but a ton of people from the ferry were sacked.

There's a nature reserve-type park on the edge of our town where people go camping a lot.
For my sister's birthday, my other sister and I took her there for the day, mostly to just chill and hang out in the river. At one point, an old man arrived and started taking pictures. We were weirded out because we were the only ones in the entire park, and he decided to stand right next to us without saying a word.

Turns out he was a photographer for the reserve's website. It's a major centre for the repopulation of kiwis and native plantlife, so they periodically take photos to show the yearly development of the native bush and landscaping.
We asked him not to use photos with us in them, and he just said "yeah, well, I'll try not to", making it perfectly clear that he wasn't gonna try at all.
For the next couple of weeks we kept checking in on the website, just to make sure he didn't fuck us over.
He was a creeper.

There was this one time i was using a site that randomly played Youtube videos with literally 0 views, So most of the shit that popped up was just random nonsense that had been uploaded a few minute before anyone had the chance to even view it
I was on there for half an hour or something, just clicking through nothing when i found this weird ass thing titled "VID_004" or something along the lines of that.
it was around 3 minutes and the only quality option was 240p so it was pretty shitty looking, but from what i could tell through that pixilated mess was just a camera pointed at a back yard or some place in the woods at night or something, and it was just pointed at the leaves (he had a flood light or something to light the video so i could only really see the focal point)
after around a minute of nothing, a dude just casually walks up to the leaves and pushes them all to the side revealing a large hold that had been hidden, and with around 30 seconds left he take the camera off of whatever tripod he had it on and records what was in the hole, it was like 3 or 4 dead dogs with all their legs fucking hacked off. some looked more decayed than the others so i came to the conclusion that this is a normal thing for this guy (also considering it was the 4th video in whatever series he had going for himself), i still can't fucking find the video or his channel so i just assumed it was taken down for animal abuse or something, but holy shit did it catch me off guard, especially with the dudes heavy breathing the way he sounded like it 'pleased him'
