I would appreciate the discussion from those willing to share.
Would anyone like to expound upon the history and practices of Alchemy and Hermeticism, how they become to be?
The first alchemic endeavor happened around 12BC. According to archaic text, a northern tribe just above Romania performed the very first recorded alchemy. They named the tribe "Fuvaskin" and they were experimenting on semen. With primitive tools, they mixed semen with multiple liquids. Their purpose is still a mystery and research lacks information about this tribe.

Also ancient Egypt would disagree I think.
Matthew Bradock was a researcher from the University of Oregon and the lead researcher on Alchemy during the ancient times. He has found something peculiar during one of his visits to Egypt.
"The vessel looked like a vase. A small tablet was found beside it bearing the symbol of Ra and Azoth. There were 3 mummified bodies in the chamber, one severely mutilated while the other bodies looked fresh, skin turned to gold"
That was the last time Bradock was heard from again. His research was completely erased and a few, sometimes false, news re-emerges from time to time.

Precisely! A perfect counter argument against the belief that all things are beautiful would be to reference morbid things such as death and destruction.
Signs of duality are everywhere. What is death and destruction to one nation is survival and rebirth to another. What is the destruction of a beautiful landscape by volcanic eruption is simply re-fertilization of land for new life!
Since our perception of life as we know it is hindered by death it is only natural to be inclined to see things as good or bad when truly all things simply embody both negative and positive aspects. Take death for example. Old life gives way for new life, old ways give way for newer and more efficient ways. And those who wish to take it a step further only seek to make death more beautiful by claiming rebirth!
As far as the dualistic nature of the hermetic truth "All truths are but half truths", it is explicitly as well as implicitly implied. Such is a prime example of divinely inspired execution of language.

Alchemy isn't about transforming metals. The goal is obtaining eternal life.
Alchemy is not much aboout making gold and transmutating material things, but instead transmuting the self into gold with is a conduit for the aether in our cosmos. Through alchemy we become connected with all, As Above So Below. Everything is connected, everything is related.
Hermeticism is what the egyptians practiced, began with Hermes who wrote about Thoth and his teachings to a priest. Many argue that Hermes is Thoth personalize as a human.

Hermetics stems from isolation and deep intense concentration of thought. Essentially the first humans were hermits and throughout human evolution they birthed and came to embody the Hermes Trismegistus method of divine insight.
Though they were not spreading esoteric wisdom during the times of cavemen, Egypt is certainly not the birthplace of hermetics, though it is where the roots of Hermes Trismegistus were planted.
