Here's a fresh one for the rooftop club. In an eeerily parallel case Ingrid here was also behaving erratically, wandered into the men's room before she vanished from her L'il Kim concert then she was found locked in a rooftop utility area.

She had a history of bipolar disorder. Missing a day on her meds could lead to a manic episode, and those can be really strange from the outside. Some people get productive but can't figure out what they're doing and make a lot of nonsensical errors (think homer building a grill). Some have psychotic episodes and can get violent. Some have boughts of paranoia. Most just get really autistic and need to touch things or flail their hands in weird ways ("stimming" is a term that gets thrown around on tumblr).
She almost certainly missed meds, had a manic episode, hopped on the fire escape and into the water thing, either running from her imagination or just going for a swim because bipolar people think this way sometimes, don't expect mental illness to make sense. She couldn't think straight, lid came down, she couldn't get back out. After treading water for a long time, she stripped because she didn't want to be weighed down. Eventually she was too exhausted and drowned.

You can see pretty clearly there are no locks on the hatches. What was kicked was the for to the roof but there's always roof access from fire escapes it's a legal requirement
