Giant hollow, worm-like entities, called Pyrosomes that can grow to a mammoth size have been found in the sea. In fact, they've been recorded at lengths comparable to a sperm whale. Even more eerie, they are bioluminescent and will glow when touched.

Were they always there? Visitors? Lab created life?

Are you a newfag or something?
>>16990604
Considering that OP thinks something like this could only exist thanks to aliens or super-science, I don't think so.

Not him, but it's a cool movie involving underwater aliens. Watch the full version/director's cut, not the original cut.

It's just a shitload of tiny animals sticking together. Also you're gay.

Under water aliens that look nearly identical to the thumbnail. Faggot.

These things are totally rad! I've never seen so many totally awesome sea-beasts like these! Mega-Mondo-Radical!
I saw one in last month's Thrasher Magazine when I was out like grinding with my bros. I was like "DUDE! Totally tubular!!!" And we pounded like 6 Jolt Colas apiece and were like totally amped!!! These are like the most mega gnarly ocean things I've ever seen in the oven before!!! RADICAL!!!!

Any sea creature that can make itself glow is not native to this planet

Tunicates? As in Urochodates? That means these things are distantly related to us, members of the same phylum.

Its created by the aliens to absorb all the toxic shit we spew in to the ocean. Literally a living self reproducing filter.

This comment is 3d for some fucking reason
Deep ocean shit scares me the most. I have been out on the Pacific ocean at night with nothing but the deep waiting to swallow me. . . its even worse when the lights die. Just me and my flashlight . . .
Holy fuck degenerate Shoggoths.
They're neat, aren't they?
They're a colonial structure consisting of smaller organisms working together for mutual survival. They can pass along nutrients and even clone one another. Some mutate to provide certain functions, such as one having an enlarged orifice for filtering food out of the water. They are referred to as colonial tunicates.
I actually happen to have colonial tunicates in my 120g salt water aquarium, they came in attached to the base of a torch coral.
Mine, however, do not form pyrosomes, they stay firmly attached to rock. They spread fairly quickly, however I can control how plentiful they are by controlling the amount of food particles floating around the water, so they don't take over anything.
Pic is of them growing around the torch and spreading to the surrounding rock.
