I just recently learned what a tulpa was, and i had created one time ago.
Basically i talked to myself, but it got to the point the other me had his own emotions and spoke without me wanting to. We even had a couple of arguments. And he woke me up some times. It acted like a sort of friend/big brother, until i decided it was becoming too independent and ended it.

I had an interest in Tulpas a few years ago, never really tried making one. I know Reddit had a sub-Reddit thing about them, but I could never converse with people there about the topic. They were all fucking retarded horsefuckers or ridiculous weeaboos to the nth degree. No one can create something in their head that they can interact with in 48 hours like these autismos were claiming. That's the nature of Reddit I guess.

Look at it this way, a tulpa is created by you making a conscious effort to talk to yourself. The voice is effectively your brain getting used to the idea of you talking to yourself, and quickly creating answers.
So if exposure and attention is what creates it, the fastest way to get rid of it is just not talking to it. You probably will never fully lose that ability to rapid fire questions at yourself though.

My impression is that it's real in that, through intense/consistent effort, you can effectively trick your brain into hallucinating up an imaginary friend. There are too many people in on this for it to be a joke, because it's not very funny and there's absolutely zero payoff to spending huge amounts of time and effort getting involved in a community around this bullshit. The easiest roleplayers to spot are the ones who claim they managed it in days or weeks, who type out their tulpa's thoughts, or who have an obviously fake tulpa. All the long guides and people who claim it took them months or years go out of their way to say that the tulpa acts like a real person, so if you trust that information all the obvious fan fic/fap material tulpas are fake.
There's nothing to suggest it's paranormal, and it's unlikely to be an actual separate personality created within your head. The tulpa is your brain effectively sitting on its non-dominant hand to numb it before jacking off, but if the tulpa APPEARS to be independent of yourself, the results are the same as it actually being so.
The only way to really know is to commit to possibly wasting a long ass period of time talking to yourself and working on your imagination. There's some value in that, I guess, but it's still a lot of effort for something that isn't guaranteed.

The closest parallel in clinical psych would be any sort of disassociative disorder, or the few people who for whatever reason genuinely experience some sort of MPD. It is entirely possible to hallucinate incredibly complex things into your subjective experience, but in most instances these are considered avolitional and aversive states. Hey, hi. So I actually do have a tulpa. I don't get any visual hallucinations, but I do know exactly what she looks like and can easily picture her in my head when she's talking.
Mostly she's just a voice that I hear, it's not really like a voice in my head. More like, when you're falling asleep with the TV on and you start sorta half-dreaming what the TV is saying? I don't know if that makes sense, best way to describe it is it sounds like a real noise but I can tell that it isn't. Her voice doesn't really interact with the real world acoustics in a natural way.

I'm not the guy you asked the question to, but I figured I'd chime in. I did it just for the hell of it. And I don't regret creating a tulpa. I might go about creating a second one, I'm iffy about it but my tulpa wants to see us try. My process was heavily based around personality. I created a trait list about 30 traits long, and went as in depth as possible with each trait, explaining each trait for about 5 minutes. The big thing is to imagine/visualize your Tulpa's form when you talk to them, to be sure that your thoughts are getting to them. Over time it becomes second nature. Then after about a month he started talking in mind voice, and it's been him and I ever since.
