ITT: Post and discuss songs that speak to your soul
Music in my opinion is one of the most magical things we can experience in this life, and I'm thoroughly convinced that songs and music is much more than just random sounds that sound "good".
You guys have any favorite songs that you feel are "special" in some kind of way? Perhaps an album that you literally felt carried you through a tough time.
The song that carries the most emotion and "life" to me is definitly:
Free Bird - Lynyard Skynyard
Masterpiece. The intro and end solo always gives me shivers down my spine, have listened to the song while high 100x times and every time the song reaches its solo I just start flying.
Also adding Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen to this list, although I do prefer Jeff Buckleys cover there is no denial that this song carries with it a flood of emotions.
Free Bird lyrics:
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me
For I must be travelin' on now
There's too many places I got to see
If I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change
Bye and bye baby, it's been sweet love, yeah yeah
Though this feelin' I can't change
Please don't take it so badly
'Cause Lord knows, I'm to blame
And if I stay here with you girl
Things just couldn't even be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you cannot change
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
And the bird you cannot change
And this bird you cannot change
Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Lord I can't change
Won't you fly high free bird yeah

To me, the lyrics are about breaking free from the chains of negativity and becoming a free spirit, free like a bird.

Rone - Bye Bye Macadam
(For the electronic fans out there)
This song is just....it makes me feel....I can't even put it into words.

Tesseract - Singularity
honestly i don't care much for lyrics, it's the instrumental itself that gives me dat groove
This shakes me in ways I can't quite explain.
Thanks to the /x/phile that showed this to me some years ago. I am forever in your debt.

second this. gives me chills and the first few notes make me want to just lie on the floor and bawl
don't laugh but basically everything by a perfect circle. also carissa's wierd. and the album souvlaki by slowdive. honorable mention is ghost light constellation by dead mellotron and fever by ramona falls.

i mean untitled by dead mellotron. there's a lot of good music on this thread. there's a lot of albums i hold sacred and only play them to generate specific feelings, which seem to coincide with happenings in the outer world. there was a time when i and my coworkers were being accosted by psychic vampires at our workplace (i know it sounds like bs but it actually really sucked) and i would put on nujabes and everything would just chill the fuck out
x might like this too?
