Vampirism is a skin disorder that causes humans to become vitamin c allergic and burn in the sun (not temperature wise but skin excema, rashes, splitting, bruises and cuts.
In the older centuries blood was a supposed cure for this, this being paired with Vlad "the impaler" Tepes caused inspiration for Bram Stokers Dracula.
So they may exist, but good motherfucking luck trying to find an undead bloodsucking actual vampire.
