He didn't exactly steal Mickey, but he didn't design Mickey either. Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is credited to Disney and Iwerks but legally was owned by Universal. The two continued to work together after breaking from Universal and basically made Mickey as a Disney (studio)-owned Oswald 2.0. The actual design was by Iwerks. The reason it's not Ub Iwerks Land/ World is because Disney had always been more charismatic and outgoing. He wanted the spotlight, and Iwerks didn't.

my parents used to own a shoe store back then in a really ghetto ass mall and they would bring me along and play endless videos of disney and looney toons cartoons. I have seen beauty and the beast at least 100 times i have also seen lion king and alladin multiple times while i was there. Disney has definitely helped me through harsh times but it was mind numbing. Watching any disney movie will make time go by super fast its kind of scary

One time that I went to one of my cousins birthday parties, it was a toy story 3 themed birthday party and we got a goody bag with a whole bunch of disney stuff. One of those things was a pencil of woody and buzz, I didn't really use it much so I left it in a drawer and didn't grab it until year later when I was looking for a pencil. I noticed that the pencil was covered in some kind of sticky wrapping paper and that it wasn't the pencils original paint. I removed the paper which was REALLY stuck on it and after I removed it I saw that the pencil wasn't sky blue, it was red and had gold lettering. It had soe strange symbols. In a vertical pattern in gold ink it was the iconic mickey mouse head silhouette, then an upside down pentagram in a circle, then a profile mickey mouse head silhouette and finally a circled upper cased M. And one the pencil was also written ©Disney
This was like 2 years back and I told my parents and my mom being superstitious decided to burn it so I never got to take photos
