Sitchen's stuff goes a lot deeper into history than Ancient Aliens. Dismissing mythology as drug-induced trips and story telling is the biggest mistake of mainstream historians. A lot of it can be simply explained as high technology once you accept that the light barrier can be breached and interstellar travel is a real thing. Much more occam's razor than log rollers and shroom trips.

A lot of the people I read don't even get featured on Ancient Aliens. Tsarion and Pye to name a few. Stanton Friedman gets a lot of air time on the modern UFO shows, but everything he says can be applied to ancient sightings and encounters.

Giorgio is alright, but he really doesn't offer much different than his mentor Erich von Daniken. There are better ancient mystery decoders out there. Giorgio must be a multi-millionaire by now with 9+ seasons of Ancient Aliens. I was watching him on Youtube before the show aired. He was a bodybuilding promoter before that, so who knows if he's just in it for the money.

i watched a documentary (no i dont have a link atm) about ancient sumeria and the sumerian texts. In the documentary, other reputable scholars that translated the same text say some of the stuff in Sitchin's work is completely made up and not even in the original writing.

They also indicate most of the translated text is available online so we could actually go read it ourselves and compare it to what Sitchin and any others might claim.
I appreciate Sitchin's work and find it all quite interesting. I dont discount all of it. But I'm not the first one to note that some of his stuff was wrong or plain made up. (he filled in certain gaps with his imagination or his own beliefs)

I'm into super powers, psi, occult and secret societies. I think ancient high tech aliens really just a good litmus test for seeing what is and isn't acceptable in guackademia and skeptic community, and how much of frauds and shills many of them they are. Most of it is discussing technology already developed by humans, in a universe that has been proven to be 14 billion years old, and most likely home to civliizations that predate humans. Real science actually supports the possibility of ancient aliens. Many of its critics are religious fundamentals and people obsessed with the idea that man created everything anachronistic with what we believe as "antiquity" in his primitive delusional little head. The universe has a long history before humans decided to write theirs down. Meta history, astrotheology and pre-history are the real sources of myth, not whimsical delusions.
