It took a few hours to climb out of the ravine yes. It also took us a full day to get to our next campsite. Then we turned around and took a day to get to the one I'm currently talking about. The third campsite was about midway 3/4 of the way through the part of the forest I knew. We could have made it out if it had stayed light out just a bit longer. Neither of us wanted to walk in the dark with thing out there.

So I live in this house that's about a century old. That's not some big achievement, cause a lot of people live in big houses, and my house is pretty small. To what I know it was built by the Burr family in the late 19th, early 20th century, on what used to be a pear orchard.
Our house is haunted as fuck. My sister always complains about seeing things, but she's awful. You can't blame me for not believing her, because, she's made shit up before for attention. She's a middle child, you know, so she's under this impression that she has to make shit up to get attention-- like we're all ignoring her.
But then, things started disappearing; Its not uncommon, especially now that they figure out that's how to get us to recognize them. Three months ago they took my headphone cord. I searched my room top to bottom, moved all the furniture in a fruitless effort. I walked in to my room three days ago after going to take a piss, and the cord was spoiled up in the bottom of my cup of water.

My sister, recently, has been travelling a lot. That means that, as the culmination of both a line of Germans from Black Forest brought up to be superstitious as possible on one side and a line of unidentifiable Native American on the other side, I was marked as the most sensitive in the house. Even if I am the youngest, my older sister has a certain gift, I think, so now the things that are in my house are coming after me.
It started gentle enough; Seeing things in the mirror, or out of the corner of my eye. Things I could brush off. Then there cam getting my heaphones yanked off. Disembidued screams right next to my ears. Faces outside my windows. People lurking outside my door when it's open, staring at me, and when it's closed, knocking or scratching on it. Unplugging my medical devices. Dangerous things.
Now I've gotten used to them, but I have to say that I will never quite get used to walking through the kitchen, looking up the stairs and seeing something looking back at me from the dark.

The reason why they would tell people to look forward, is that they want as little gossip and fallout as one could get. If true there isn't anything really creepy about this. Just another tragedy (for the involved parties, such as family etc.) that happens from time to time in the work-place.
An employee, following various traumas and events in life, snaps and kills himself, probably due to the usual factors that would provoke such an extreme reaction.
Whelp at least he/she didn't go postal and kill a bunch before killing himself.
