I want to do some retrogaming (8/16 bit consoles) on my old ass laptop but I find using the keyboard highly uncomfortable.

But.
You need Bluetooth 3.0, so you need a dongle that actually does 3.0, not a dongle that just says it does.
If you have a laptop for grownups, like a Thinkpad, you can get its internal bluetooth module in 3.0 or 4.0 flavour, and you'll definitely be getting what you're paying for.
If you need a USB one, don't bother with the $1 ones from Hong Kong. They'll pair, then the pad won't work.
